Dear friends,
Our college of gas and oil is
situated in Volgograd, the centre of Volgograd
region. Volgograd region occupies the territory
of 114,1 thousands sq. kms., its population
is more than 2,5 mln. people (that is it
is three times more than the territory of
Switzerland and only 18000 kms. less than
the territory of Grecce). Our city was founded
in the XVIth century (in 1589) and was called
Tsarychin then. During the years of the
Soviet power it was renamed Stalingrad (1925)
and then Volgograd (in 1961).
Volgograd is an old city with
its bright history full of events and interesting
present and prospect future. At present
our city is a big industrial, agricultural,
cultural, educational and scientific center,
it’s also a centre of business, entrepreneurship,
banking etc. The
city is located on the bank of the great
Russian Volga-river that is peculiar for
its beauty and favorable economic characteristics.
There are many places of interest
in our city (the Mamaev Hill, the Panorama
ethnographic museum “German settlement Sarepta
of the XVI century), but our greatest place
of sightseeing is our people. Citizens of
Volgograd are energetic, talented, cordial
and hospitable.
We are interested in fruitful cooperation
with foreign partners and believe it’ll
be of mutual benefit.
